Patti Russo - Esmeralda

Patti Russo is a vocalist, actress and writer. In the few short years she's been on the scene, Patti has amassed a long list of impressive credits consistent with her versatility and talent. Best known as the featured female performer for the legendary rock singer Meat Loaf, Patti has toured the world several times over, earning both the approval of the critics and the love of the fans.

A triumphant television appearance on Dick Clark's USA Music Challenge quickly led to Patti's being offered the role of lead female vocalist for the monumental Meat Loaf - Bat Out Of Hell II: Back Into Hell tour. For the next six years Patti toured singing lead on the show's many duets, and solo on songs during the Very Best Of Meat Loaf tour. The highly theatrical nature of both the songs an the live performances allowed Patti to finely hone the skills needed to incorporate her powerful, robust voice with the timing and stage presence of a seasoned dramatic and comedic actress.

Album credits include: Steve Van Zandt's Freak, on which Patti sang the part of Esmeralda for this rock-opera based on The Hunchback Of Notre Dame. She has appeared on all of Meat Loaf's albums since 1995, including duets and solo performances on Welcome To The Neighbourhood, Live Around The World, The Very Best Of and VH1's Storytellers.  Patti gave voice to Beethoven's immortal beloved, Theresa, on the highly acclaimed Trans-Siberian Orchestra concept recording, Beethoven's Last Night.

Chart and writing credit: Patti has had several hit singles in the charts in the USA, UK and Canada. Her duets with Meat Loaf, the Dianne Warren composition I'd Die For You (And That's The Truth) reached number two in the UK charts and the Jim Steinman/Don Black ballad Is Nothing Sacred entered the UK charts at number fifteen. Patti co-wrote the single Running For The Red Light which appeared on the Virgin Records' release Meat Loaf - Welcome To The Neighbourhood. That song reached number thirty in the UK charts. In addition to having written many of the songs that will appear on her forthcoming solo album, Patti has also completed a script for a television series she hopes to produce in 2001.

Television and Major appearances: Patti has appeared numerous times on MTV, VH1 and Top Of The Pops, as well as appearing on The Late Show with David Letterman, TFI Friday and The Big Breakfast Show, just to name a few. She has performed in nearly every major arena in the world, including New York's Madison Square Garden, London's Wembley Arena and Australia's Sydney Opera House, as well as performing for HRH Prince Charles at the Prince's Trust Concert.
